FAQs:

  • Who is pole dancing for?  Pole dancing is for all women, all shapes, sizes, ages, and fitness levels. (The poles do have a 200 pound weight limit). Although, you must be at least 18 years old, I have taught women who were nearly 70 years old!  The women in the classes are from a wide variety of professions and backgrounds.  The parties are great for bachelorettes, birthdays, moms, any reason to have a fun girls' night out.

  • Do we strip?  Absolutely not! This is a fitness dance class that is run like any other group fitness class you may have taken. Some of the moves are sensual by nature, but you have the choice to make them more or less sensual to suit your comfort level.

  • What are the benefits?  Pole dancing is good for your mind and body. You will see and feel both physical and mental benefits.  You will gain physical strength and flexibility, tone your body, as well as build confidence and inner strength.   You will build relationships with other women and improve your relationship with your significant other too!

  • Are there spectators?  NO!! This is a private studio, there are never any spectators. Even the location is private.

  • What do I wear?  You will want to wear workout type clothes, things you can move in, but feel good in. It is best not to wear baggy clothes beacuse you will not be able to see your body move, and they tend to get in the way with some of the moves. We will do everything barefoot first, and you may add sexy shoes later if you would like. In the more advanced classes you will want to wear biker shorts or boyshorts so your leg will grip the pole.

  • How does the class run?  Everyone will warm-up with basic dance moves on and off the pole followed by strengthening exercises, cardio pole, and a sexy stretch. Everyone will have their own pole, and will perform moves as called out by the instructor.  The moves build into routines that we perform during class. It is a very encouraging atmoshphere, as the ladies cheer each other on.

  • What if I am shy?  Everyone in the class is shy and feels nervous at first, but that quickly goes away.  You will feel silly at first, but that too will go away.  Majority of the women have never done this before either, so everyone is on the same page. You are given options with the moves, so you can choose what is best for you. I will always coach you through each move and the routines. You are free to move through the levels at your own pace.

  • Have you ever been a stripper or exotic dancer?? NO!! I have never done either, just self-taught through DVDs and on-line schools, and instructor training. The only man to ever see me "perform" is my very lucky husband!

  • What can I do to improve my strength?  You should be doing push-ups, pull ups,  and other upper body strengthening exercises, as well as using the gripper to build up your forearm and grip/hand strength.  Core exercises are also a must, as you will need a lot of upper body and core strength as you progress through the moves.   Body and hip circles are great for the core.
